Social Permaculture

The course Social Permaculture is about permaculture for social purposes. We will together look at different aspects from permaculture and Nonviolent Communication in relation to ourselves, others and the world around us.

A central theme in this course is reasoning and desigining in abundance instead of scarcity. We will try to recognise patterns within ourselves and -if wanted- translate these into more fruitful ways.

Permaculture is a design methodology with which you can design processes as sustainable as possible. Permaculture is often used for organic gardening, however permaculture can be applied on many aspects of life, including in the social angle. Nonviolent Communication is a way of dealing with and reasoning about situations in a connecting way, which results in practical approaches to deal with yourself and others in a connectful way. You do not need pre-knowledge about permaculture or Nonviolent Communication to follow this course.

Who is giving the training Social Permaculture?

Niels Gorisse is the builder of the Strohplatz parcel in Germany. For this he researched off-grid components, permaculture and Nonviolent Communication for many years, and followed many courses and gave lots of trainings too. Between giving trainings as permaculture teacher and international certified trainer Nonviolent Communication, he is busy working on his house.

What will I learn in the course Social Permaculture?

This course is divided in three parts.
The first part is about connection with ourselves: selfcompassion, translating own patterns and believes to vigor, be in your own power.
The second part is about connection with others: honest listening, communicate with empathy, give&hear feedback without criticism, meetings and decision-making (sociocracy, consensus and more).
The third part is about connecting with the world: taking time for what is not there, our culture and believes about it, systems, our place in the world, and how to take action in all of those. You get to see many different components, and many practices that you can certainly continue doing afther the course.

We are currently working very hard to transform this training into an online version. Please add yourself to the mailinglist or send us a message if you want to get a notification when it is ready.
